SCOTLAND GIRLS TEAM VIDEOS - AND THE GIRLS QUALIFY FOR THE MATCHPLAY STAGES

Despite challenging conditions in Sweden, the Scotland Team have made it to Top-Flite = top 8 teams in the championship, an accomplishment that hasn't been achieved for almost 10 years. Very proud, tomorrow we face number 1 qualifiers Spain for a 36 hole matchplay battle bring it on as the Scottish Matadors have no fear. (From Kevin Craggs)

EUROPEAN GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP VENUE FLOODED - SCOTS QUALIFY IN EIGHTH PLACE:

The second qualifying round in the European girls' team championship at Linkopings GC, Sweden was cancelled after the course was flooded.
Scores recorded in the first round decided the qualifiers for the top flight of match-play and Scotland got through in the last of the eight places.
They will play No 1 qualifiers Spain in the quarter-finals.
Match-play draw:
Spain v Scotland
Sweden v Finland
England v Italy
France v Norway

D&A ARE ON THE HELENSBURGH TV CHANNEL



Alisoun Fairbairn (Captain of D&A) and Nichola Ferguson (D&A County Champion) were interviewed last week at the County Jamboree at Cardross.

Scottish golfers Carly Booth (Winner of the Scottish Open at Archerfield) and Lynn Kenny swap their golf clubs for dancing shoes at they are taught some moves by Strictly Come Dancing's Brendan Cole, ahead of all three playing in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open.

Perhaps Dancing is good for your golf !!

Douglas Park Ladies Section held a cocktail and dinner social evening last night in there Clubhouse. Ladies Captain Lynda Smith hosted the evening and Past Renfrewshire County Captain Christeen Finlayson was the guest speaker followed by a very entertaining quiz

How to set up a tee box !

Susan Simpson, the LGU's Head of Golf Operations, shows how to set a tee box at Carnoustie this summer - the same approach will be taken at the Curtis Cup and those of you up with the larks at Nairn should get to the course and watch how it should be done - 5.30 am (or maybe a wee bit earlier!) on 8,9 and 10 June 2012 - Be there or be square!
