A COUPLE OF PLACES AVAILABLE FOR ROYAL DEESIDE GOLF WEEK

Due to an enforced COVID cancellation earlier this week, we have 2 places left for the Royal Deeside Golf Week (RDGW) which starts on Monday (26th July) playing
Aboyne, Braemar, Ballater and Banchory.  www.royaldeesidegolfweek.co.uk

We appreciate it is exceptionally short notice but if any of your members or golfing friends would like to take one or both these slots then it would be great to see us back up to a full field of x170 golfers.

 If anyone wants to take one or both these places then email
bookings@royaldeesidegolfweek.co.uk  and provide a mobile and CDH number so we can get in touch.

The website has a short contact form if any golfers would like to pre-register for the 2022 RDGW.

Williamwood Open Day raises £2,500 for Age Concern East Renfrewshire and Whitecraigs trio are the Winners

Carol McBeath of Age Concern,
Gill Unick - Lady Vice Captain - Williamwood
Carol McNally -  Lady Vice Captain - Williamwood
Williamwood Ladies' Open Triam: 28th August

Over 140 ladies (just 4 home players) played in Williamwood's clearly popular annual tournament  today.  The visiting ladies found the back 9 holes quite a bit tougher than the front 9 (members would agree!) and all keen to return next year.

Local players from Whitecraigs just pipped one of the Ralston teams on the better inward 9, whilst Milngavie trio took 3rd spot and Prestwick St. Nicholas 4th place.

Leaderboard:
1st: L Hay; A Campbell; J Mitchell all Whitecraigs 137 (bih)
2nd: L McMillan; C Clark; L Marven all Ralston 137
3rd: M Allan; S O'Neill; S Sinclair all Milngavie 139 (bih)
4th: A McGillivray; S Dunigan; L Thompson all Prestwick St. Nicholas

Photograph of full notice board scores shown below.

Another Winner on the day was most definitely Wiliamwood's chosen charity: Age Concern East Renfrewshire.  An unbelievable amount of over £2,500 was raised on the day through everyone's commitment and generosity.

Missed out this year?  Watch out for on line booking early in 2020.

Two best net scores counted, therefore winners were 7 under par.

Thanks go to Carol McNally for the results and report

Renfrew Golf Club Tri Am Success

Winning Team — Megan and Lynn McColl, Karen McIlvaney (Hilton Park not pictured)

Another very successful Ladies Open Tri-am took place yesterday at Renfrew Golf Club in largely dry and sunny conditions. A field of 37 teams took part in a bid to win the Burgoyne Thistle Trophy and the 'on course' prizes.

As well as the opportunity to win some fantastic raffle prizes- the local Renfrew Branch of Enable Scotland Charity will be the beneficiaries of the proceeds - there was an extensive selection of ladies golf clothing, gifts and accessories offered for sale by Sarah and Tom Eckford. Never has the Committee Room looked so pretty 😜

A selection of photographs from the event are included in the album on the Renfrew Facebook Page and quite unusually the vast majority of the prize-winners stayed or in the case of the winners, came back for the presentation of prizes that was undertaken by Alice Burgoyne.

The competition was based on the best nett score at each hole but in the last three holes all three players nett scores counted and were added in.

Many congratulations to the winners of the Trophy, who only entered the day before the competition;

Lynn and Megan McColl (The Carrick) and Karen McIlvaney (Hilton Park) with a score of 96

They also won the separate 16th, 17th and 18th combined score competition and many  thanks to Tom and Sarah Eckford for donating these prizes.

Other Prize Winners;

SECOND PRIZE: Ann Shanks, Margaret Nicolson and Ronalda Agnew (all Dumbarton) 97
THIRD PRIZE: Irene McInnes (Williamwood), Brenda Conway (Renfrew) and Moira Kerr (Cowglen) 98
FOURTH PRIZE: Jane Pirie, Kathryn McPhail and Rhonda Hughes (all Millport) 99 BIH

On Course Prizes;

Nearest the pin at the 7th Hole: Jean Sloan (Troon)
Nearest the pin in 2 at the 12th Hole: Fiona Armour (Renfrew)
Nearest the pin in 3 at the 16th Hole: Alyson McGinnigle (Cowglen)

In her closing speech Shelia Loudon, Ladies Section Co-ordinator, expressed her thanks to the following people:
